The Intergenerational Center at Temple University, in collaboration with the Penn Memory Center at the University of Pennsylvania, have been awarded a grant from Pew Charitable Trusts to operate an in-home respite support and mentorship programs for families caring for older relatives living in the greater Philadelphia region. The proposed program (Time Out Program) matches college students with older adults to provide caring companionship, supervision and assistance with activities of daily living, providing family caregivers a break while simultaneously providing meaningful engagement for the older person and the student with whom he/she is matched. We are hiring a talented individual to coordinate a novel intergenerational respite care program that matches students with families caring for their frail and elderly relatives, including those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia disease. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of the program, including recruiting, training, and supervising students to work as companions for older adults with memory impairment and/or frail conditions. The Coordinator will also identify eligible families to participate in the program. The coordinator will obtain informed consent from eligible families and administer interviews to all program participants prior to program enrollment and at periodic time increments. The Coordinator will be responsible for scheduling respite care visits and will serve as the liaison between families and student companions. The Coordinator will report to the Program Manager of the Intergenerational Center and will work collaboratively with his/her counterpart at the Penn Memory Center. The Coordinator will ensure compliance with program scope and requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. 
Required Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in social work, nursing, or public health or other related field and at least 2 years’ experience working with older adults with dementia or other debilitating conditions and their family caregivers as well as building partnerships with other colleges and community organizations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
Required Skills & Abilities:*Experience with program coordination and assessment/interviewing, significant student recruitment, placement and support. *Must be able to travel between program sites, universities and client homes daily.*Strong skills and ability to recruit, train, place and provide ongoing support to respite student workers.*Strong public speaking, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.*Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with school personnel, community providers and parents.*Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.*Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive.*Ability to be highly flexible and work in a diverse and dynamic environments.*Ability to work collaboratively with partner organizations.*Ability to recruit families for the program.*Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and maintain a professional disposition in interacting with students and families;*Ability to conduct evaluations and compile reports.
Preferred:*Master’s degree*Experience engaging families, teaching/training, recruiting and supporting students
