Position Summary:

The Student Services and Program Coordinator (SSPC) joins a team of 10 professionals contributing to a broad portfolio of Workforce Development offerings through the UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR). The SSPC is responsible for overseeing and coordinating graduate student services, with a primary focus on assisting with the daily operations and administrative duties necessary to support ICTR's new Clinical and Health Informatics Master?s Degree program, which will enroll students in 2020. The SSPC will demonstrate dependability, flexibility, and maturity and be effective while building interpersonal relationships with diverse colleagues and customers using constructive interactions, clear and effective communication, thereby contribute to and promoting collegial settings that value respect and accountability.

The SSPC reports to the Administrative Director of Workforce Development within the ICTR and will work alongside and be provided day-to-day management by the ICTR Professional Master?s Program Director.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required:
-At least two years of successful employment experience including exceptional customer service, program coordination, student recruitment in an academic, or other relevant training/career development setting.
-Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
-Demonstrated customer service skills.
-Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:
-Experience successfully contributing in an academic setting with documented progression of responsibilities.
-Experience in student support services, adult education, and/or online learning program.
-Marketing experience.
-Experience working with resources (funding, expertise, curricula, and facilities) for teaching and outreach programs.

Prefix assignment determined by years of relevant work experience.

A minimum of 7 years' experience is required for appointment at the senior level.

Additional Information:

Housed within the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and established in 2007, the Institute for Clinical and Translational research (ICTR) brings together four UW Schools (SMPH, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine), the College of Engineering and the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute in an infrastructure to support clinical and translational research investigators and scholars across multiple settings (ictr.wisc.edu). ICTR is also committed to developing the workforce necessary to conduct clinical and translational research, including research that depends on the use of health information systems. The Clinical and Health Informatics Master's Degree program aims to establish a foundation in healthcare decision-making using informatics methods to create innovative solutions or improve current practices in health policy, clinical practice, security, and biomedical and health information systems by incorporating population health, biomedical informatics, industrial systems engineering, nursing, pharmacy, and healthcare operations management expertise.

Some evening and weekend graduation and/or recruitment events may necessitate participation outside normal working hours.
