 Addiction Research and TreatmentServices has an opening for a full-timeUniversity Staff (unclassified) Case Manager (Health Care TechnicianI) position.

 Addiction Research and Treatment Services (ARTS) is the clinical programof the Division of Substance Dependence, Department of Psychiatry at theUniversity of Colorado, School of Medicine. ARTS has provided residential andoutpatient empirically supported substance abuse treatment services in Coloradofor over 40 years, with an emphasis on psychosocial and pharmacologicaltreatments for adolescents, women, men, families and those involved in thecriminal justice system. It is the mission of ARTS to improve the quality oflife and productivity of individuals and families affected by substance use andco-occurring mental health disorders through the application of scientificallysupported prevention, education, and treatment services.

 Peer I andThe Haven Outpatient Therapeutic Community (OTC) is the coed outpatient,continuing care component for clients completing The Haven and Peer Iresidential programs.  OTC is licensed bythe Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health (OBH),and is contracted by the Colorado Division of Criminal Justice as a CommunityCorrections Non Residential Program. OTC is currently looking to fill theposition as described below.

 This full time positionis a hybrid position and is assigned an even (50/50%) split between Operationsduties and Case Management duties. This position exists to provide supportservices to our client population who are involved in the criminal justicesystem and recovering from Substance Use Disorders. 

 Dutiesrelated to the 50% Operations position are as follows: 

  • Collectionof same sex urinalysis samples
  • Residencechecks per DCJ (Division of Criminal Justice) standards
  • Maintenanceof several Excel data bases related to client progress
  • Coordinatingwith our contracted Laboratory to interpret and report urinalysis testingresults to the clinical team
  • Entryof client services into the CWISE system (offender data base)
  • Filing,scanning and uploading paperwork
  • Trackingof client services related to DCJ contact standards
  • Generatingmonthly progress reports
  • Otherduties as assigned or required
This position will beheavily involved in entering data into our Electronic Health Care Record andthe applicant should have above average familiarity with computers andespecially Excel spreadsheets. Additional miscellaneous duties may be assignedper the program manager. It should be noted that the OTC Operations departmentemploys two additional full time staff in addition to this position, allOperations staff work together in completing the above described supportservices. Dutiesrelated to the 50% Case Management position as follows:

  • Assistingclients in the treatment engagement and retention process by intervening whennecessary to prevent drop-out and early termination from treatment.
  • Assistingclients with skill building, goal setting and mentoring, promoting meaningfulengagement in society, and engaging in pro-social activities.
  • Advocatingfor, establishing linkages, and empowering clients to connect with permanenthousing, education, financial assistance, parenting education, grief/losscounselors, community mutual self-help groups, mental health service providersand employers in the communities in which OTC clients live.
  • Conductingweekly life skills groups on Stress Management and Time Management using acurriculum offered through the Change Company.
  • Assistwith monitoring client compliance with legal requirements, such as restitutionpayments; conducting employment verifications; addressing any job-relatedconflicts; and conducting routine home visits to ensure that clients are livingin an environment that supports their own recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Tracking of all Case Management activities for grant reportingpurposes.
  • Attending staff meeting and any grant related meetings.
  • General office duties, including answering phone and filing.
  • Other duties as assigned or required
Itshould be noted that the OTC Case Management department employs one additionalfull time staff member in addition to this position, all Case Management staffwork together in completing the above described support services. PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will beresponsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and anyrelocation expenses, if applicable.

 Salary andBenefits:

Thesalary range for this position has been established at $35,652 and iscommensurate with skills and experience. This position iseligible for overtime compensation

QualificationsMinimumQualifications:

  • High school diploma orGeneral Education Diploma (GED).
Conditions of Employment:
  • Must beregistered in DORA with a Colorado Addictions Counselor I (CACI) a Mastersdegree can be substituted for the CAC.
  • Mustpossess a valid registration in good standing with the Colorado Department ofRegulatory Agencies (DORA)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado Driver'sLicense or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire
  • Must agree to fingerprinting and criminal background check.Required background checks include a review with the Colorado Bureau ofInvestigation (CBI) AND the Central Registry of Child Protection (Trails).
  • In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), ARTS cannotemploy individuals who may have contact with residents who have (1) engaged insexual abuse in a prison, jail, lockup, community confinement facility,juvenile facility, or other Institution (as defined in 42 U.S. C. § 1997); (2) been convictedof engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the communityfacilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if thevictim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse; or (3) been civillyor administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in(1-3) of this section.  Materialomissions regarding such misconduct, or the provision of materially falseinformation, shall be grounds for termination

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, criminaljustice, human services, or related field.
