Master’s degree in educational field. A minimum of five years of experience in public education in a leadership role. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Performs complex and highly advanced managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning for the department, program, or center.

Primary Responsibilities

Provides leadership, vision, and management to the department. Develops activities, policies, procedures, and departmental culture that facilities, promotes, and sustains collaboration with the campus community. Collaborates with external partners in the educational community, supporting field placements and clinical teaching. Responsible for organizing, planning, and evaluating personnel, work assignments, supervision, training, and technical direction of staff and university field supervisors. Leads and evaluates programs, projects, and services to identify areas of strengths and necessary improvements. Represents the Educator Preparation Program at the state level in certification policies and procedures.

Other Specifications

Exhibits a high level of professionalism and maturity, executive ability, and keen understanding of protocol. Organizes work effectively and prioritizes objectives. Exercises discretion, excellent reasoning, and independent judgment. Skilled in directing multiple tasks, setting priorities and organizing operations. Exhibits strong oral and written communications. Requires critical judgment and decision-making in situations involving teacher candidates, university supervisors, and university personnel. Supports all other initiatives of the college and department related to state requirements and certification.

This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
