TheWomen’s and Ethnic Studies (WEST) Program at the University of ColoradoColorado Springs invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor position set to begin in Fall 2020. We seek a dynamic scholar withstrong Latinx studies focus and a foundation in ethnic and gender studies. Thesuccessful candidate will be expected to teach elective courses in their areasof expertise and to cover sections of our “Introduction to Social JusticesStudies” course (an interdisciplinary and intersectional survey of topicsconcerning social identity, difference, and inequality). Preference will begiven to applicants with prior teaching experience in ethnic and genderstudies, who demonstrate strong research potential in their field, who displayability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds, and who valueinterdisciplinary and intersectional approaches to scholarship and pedagogy. QualificationsMinimum Requirement:
  • PhD in a relevant discipline including, but not limited to, American Studies, Anthropology, Communications, Cultural Studies, English, Ethnic Studies, Geography, Gender/Women's Studies, History, Psychology, or Sexuality Studies.
  • ABD will be considered; PhD must be conferred by August 16, 2020
Preferred Qualification:
  • a minimum of one semester (4 months) of experience teaching ethnic and gender studies at the college level
