Job Description:


The Economics program at York College of Pennsylvania is pleased to invite applications for an Instructor of Economics to begin in August 2020. We seek candidates with a specialization in the following fields: mathematical/quantitative methods, business economics, or economic innovation/technological change. This position affords the opportunity to assist in the development of a new Master's in Analytics program.


The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Principles of Macroeconomics and Microeconomics, as well as Analytics. York College is a teaching-focused institution, and we seek applicants with genuine interest for both teaching and ongoing scholarly activity, as well as service to the college community. Holding regular office hours, demonstrating an appropriate degree of professional activity (particularly with regard to pedagogy), and attending all meetings relevant to the position is expected. Instructors are encouraged to attend College sponsored activities. An interest in sustainability is also a plus.



Requirements:


Applicants should have a Ph.D. or DBA in Economics, Analytics, or a closely related discipline by the start of the initial contract period. Consideration will be given to ABD candidates with a defined plan to complete their degree requirements within 12 months. Evidence of research potential is expected. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience.
