Post Doc Fellow

Department of Cancer Biology

University of Cincinnati College of Medicine

The Department of Cancer Biology at the University of Cincinnati has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow to study transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of gene expression in breast cancer. The Zhang laboratory currently focuses on elucidating molecular mechanisms of gene- and tissue- specific transcriptional cofactors and small RNAs (e.g. miRNA, enhancer RNA) in breast cancer [Mol Cell 19:89-100, PNAS 107: 6765, JBC 286:17746, EMBO J. 30:2405, Cancer Research 72:5625, ACS Nano 11(1):335, Cancer Research 78(2):422, Estrogen Receptor and Breast Cancer – Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Discovery of ER (1st ed, 2019, Springer Nature)]. We are using a combination of biochemical, molecular, genomic and mouse genetic (conditional knockout, mutant knockin and overexpression) approaches. We are also currently developing RNA-based nano-therapeutics to target these cofactors and small RNAs to overcome therapeutic resistance of human breast cancer. This temporary appointment shall not exceed five(5) years; however, short extensions may be granted when necessary to complete a critical research project.
