Director of Admissions, Student Engagement and Marketing

The Division of Enrollment Management is seeking a visionary, passionate, goal-oriented leader to serve as Director of Admissions specific to Student Engagement and Marketing, to assist in leading the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in attracting and enrolling a diverse and talented undergraduate student population.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost for Admissions, the Director’s critical functions include directing the marketing efforts and communication plans, oversight of campus visit and event programming, coordination of processes related to admission decisions and holistic review, support of out of state regional recruiters, and supervision of professional and student staff. The Director will serve on the senior leadership team and collaborate intensively with the Director of Admissions who oversees Recruitment and Outreach to lead the Office of Admissions Recruitment Team. The Director is expected to stay current with emerging technology and best practice strategies in the admissions field and uprising trends for strategic populations.

Characteristic Duties

  • Provide leadership and vision for enrollment planning engaging and acting on market research to determine the current and near-future trends to achieve enrollment goals.
  • Collaborate with academic colleges to understand enrollment goals for each academic program; employ best practices and data analytics to determine effective recruitment efforts.
  • Direct the supervision, mentoring and training of staff members; inspire new thinking, confidence and high standards of performance and teamwork. Manage with an eye towards professional development, transparency and staff engagement with individual and team goals, personal accountability, and committed accomplishment.
  • Consult and collaborate with administrators, faculty and staff across the University including regional campuses in Blue Ash and Clermont; develop new processes and procedures to ensure consistency throughout the University in the implementation of relevant policies, procedures, and practices
  • Oversee the development of a comprehensive marketing plan that will span various media platforms. This includes strong partnership with University Marketing + Communications and streamlining various work-flows to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of communication efforts.
  • Provide leadership and general oversight for the operations of recruitment events both on and off-campus, the Admission Welcome Center that is responsible for campus visitor experience, outstanding customer service, and the management of student staff.
  • Manage the implementation and training of professional staff who evaluate applicants’ academic records to determine admissibility.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging technology and its impact on department goals and objectives. Implement processes that take advantage of technology.
  • Develop and administer portions of the recruitment budget, including management of accounts, making appropriate recommendations for budget requests, and monitoring unit expenditures to ensure optimal use of available funds.
  • Perform other related duties based on departmental needs

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree with five (5) years’ experience; -OR- Bachelor’s degree with seven (7) years of experience, -OR- Associate’s degree with nine (9) years of experience; -OR- eleven (11) years of experience. Degree must be in student services or a related field with experience in the development and management of an Admissions program. Experience must include at least three (3) years of supervision.
