The Associate Director of Employer Engagement & Recruiting for MBA & Alumni assists in identifying high-quality direct-hire MBA opportunities for all UNC Kenan-Flagler MBA students and alumni. This position is critical in advancing our brand with employers, corporate partners, and alumni and offering methods of hiring our students beyond the on-campus recruiting process. The Associate Director will operate independently in managing a process to build recruiting relationships by demonstrating innovation, initiative, and flexibility in the creation, execution, and evaluation of employer recruiting for students across all programs within the MBA portfolio (Full-Time MBA, Evening MBA, Weekend MBA and online MBA@UNC). Strategic planning and decision-making abilities are critical because recommendations related to recruiting influence employer satisfaction and student outcomes.

The position will work to build new relationships, expand existing relationships and serve as an ambassador for UNC Kenan-Flagler. Specifically, the Associate Director will provide strategic guidance to companies likely in need of direct hire or just-in-time talent and work to identify talent needs that can be filled through internship and full-time career opportunities for students and alumni. This person will work collaboratively within the Employer Engagement & Recruitment team, the Career Coaching team, the Career & Leadership Programming team, the Career & Leadership Operations team, other degree programs, advancement, business partnerships, faculty, centers, students and alumni of UNC Kenan-Flagler.

This position is responsible for utilizing and maximizing recruiting software/technology to ensure an easy and seamless process for employers, overseeing job postings, and disseminating information to students around recruiting activity. This position also utilizes contact management software and/or technology to extend employer communications. This position reports to the Senior Associate Director of Employer Engagement & Recruiting for MBA & Alumni.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. All degrees must be from accredited institutions.

Qualifications and Experience

-3 years of previous work experience in a university or corporate setting. Experience managing employer recruiting preferred.
-Experience interacting regularly with upper level leadership and/or executives is required.
-Previous recruiting, talent management, business development, corporate relations and/or employer relations experience with progressive levels of responsibility is strongly preferred. Knowledge of and experience in MBA recruiting and hiring processes is desirable.
-Excellent project management, leadership, and analytical skills
-Comfort with proactively reaching out to contacts (including cold-calling) and a track record of establishing positive client relationships
-High attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to navigate multiple tasks under competing deadlines and shifting priorities
-Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
-Willingness to assume new tasks and special projects
-Superior oral and written communication skills
-Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
-Experience with software, databases, and technologies used to manage the recruiting process; 12Twenty and Salesforce experience preferred
-Experience with budget oversight and fiscal responsibility preferred
-Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
-Occasional out-of-state travel required.
-Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
-Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population of company representatives, including recruiting professionals, alumni and executives.

Location: UNC is located in the heart of Chapel Hill, the best college town in America! It's a friendly town of about 40,000 in the geographical center of North Carolina. Chapel Hill is at the western point of the Research Triangle, an area of about one million people, comprised of Chapel Hill, the cities of Durham and Raleigh, and the Research Triangle Park, home of many corporate offices and scientific research centers. Carolina is about 30 miles from the state capital, Raleigh, and 20 minutes from Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Technological facilities: Students find multiple uses for Carolina's state-of-the-art technological resources. The MetaLab oversees the development of SunSITE, one of the world's busiest digital library and electronic publishing projects.

Students may open e-mail accounts, and many use campus computer resources to construct personal Web pages. Students in residence halls have hardwired network connections to the Internet and cable television in their rooms. At the ATN Training center, students may take classes on software packages and utilities. Computer labs are available for student use all over campus.

Carolina Computing Initiative: Beginning with the freshman class of 2000, undergraduates must purchase laptop computers. The University has arranged for IBM to offer computers at excellent prices.
