Job Details
Responsible for coordinating classes, courses and activities within the EMS Training Unit, specifically the Paramedic Program. Ensure alignment of classes and programs with HACC’s Strategic Plan and compliance with Middle States standards.
Essential Job FunctionsJob Specific Task List1. Oversees activities, analyzes, and provides training and support to staff and adjunct faculty in designing, evaluating, and creating coursework curriculum and delivery for the Paramedic Program and other EMS courses as necessary; provides didactic and clinical instruction for the Paramedic Program and other EMS courses as needed.
2. Participates in budget development, monitors and approves expenditures in accordance with college policy, and prepares a variety of reports to support activities as needed; prepares, maintains, and updates program procedures and policies to ensure compliance with operations and staff activities; oversees and ensures program compliance with applicable industry, government, and education rules, regulations, and standards; oversees and maintains confidential files and paperwork related to staff, instructor(s), and student(s).
3. Maintains internal and external partnerships to maximize effectiveness of educational programs and market offerings to outside courses; serves as a representative for the college at internal and external events as required.
4. Schedules classes as well as certification exams and contracts adjunct staff based on program needs.
5. Ability to work on evenings and weekends at both on campus and off campus locations on and College-related travel is required, as necessary.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in a related field. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.
Licensing RequirementsPA or Nationally Registered Paramedic (required); per CoAEMSP accreditation requirements, must meet minimum education and qualifications for Paramedic Program Director.
All HACC faculty are required to have completed the following clearances and training: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check and Mandated Reporter Training (3 hour course).
Physical RequirementsPositions in this class typically require; fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting more than 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Qualifications: Preferred ExperienceEMS certification instructional experience (for ALS level programs); experience with EMS program coordination; experience with EMS certification testing
