The Director of Budget and Financial Reporting will perform a variety of high-level budgeting and financial reporting responsibilities. The position will be responsible for preparation of the College budget, financial reporting and financial reporting.

Staff Required Education/Experience:

•Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Accounting.
•Business Administration, Finance or related field, and 3 to 5 years of general ledger accounting experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
•Preparation of College financial statements.
•A strong commitment to the mission of the community college.

Faculty Required Education/Experience Skills:Desired Education/Experience/Skills:

•Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field or a CPA.
•Knowledge in GAAP and GASB as well as governmental accounting practice.
•Previous experience with using Colleague software program.
•Minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in the business office functional area at a comprehensive community college or university.

•Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
•Knowledge of budget development and management principles within governmental or higher education environments
•Knowledge of collegiate auxiliary services operations
•Skill in making timely, data-driven decisions
•Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs

•Skilled in interpersonal relations
•Ability to manage multiple priorities
•Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, college employees and the public.
•Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, including governmental accounting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
•Highly proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.

•Reviews monthly journal entries and posts financial information into appropriate accounts; creates journal entries; reviews and resolves discrepancies of data entered.

The college's New and Expanding Industry Training office has earned national recognition for cooperative training efforts with area industries. Focused Industrial Training designs innovative educational programs for the service region's manufacturing sector.

An important function of the college is to provide educational programs on the pre-college level. Literacy Services offer adults the opportunity for meaningful social and occupational growth through Adult Basic Education (ABE), Human Resources Development (HRD), and the High School Equivalency Program (GED).
