The College of Nursing and Health Sciences seeks applicants for a twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position in the School of Nursing.

Responsibilities include classroom teaching, clinical teaching and laboratory instruction at the undergraduate level, professional service and scholarship as well as a commitment to the enhancement of all programs within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences provide programs of study at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Bachelor of Science degree is granted in Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training and Nursing. The graduate degrees include the Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as well as a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology. A minor in Nutrition is also provided. The Nursing program is accredited by the CCNE. Faculty members are actively involved in research, service, scholarship, and professional development.

Required Qualifications

Master of Nursing degree.

An active unrestricted Georgia registered nursing license or the ability to be licensed.

A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship.

2 years of Med-Surg Clinical experience.

Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching in an undergraduate nursing program.

Physical Requirements

Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker’s Compensation.

Position Requires a Criminal Background Check.

Position May Require Credit Check (if using P-Card, working with Cash, etc.).

Essential Duties of the Position

The duties below reflect 90% of the employee's responsibilities. There is an additional 10% reserved for professional development and any other duties that may be assigned.
