5+ years experience in systems analysis and programming.

Position Summary:

This position will support Student Information Services, a division of
Enterprise Information Technology Services) EITS.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Provide analysis, application development and support for the Banner
Student / Financial Aid System.
- Serve as senior upgrade lead developer providing key analysis and
application development services in support of Banner upgrade cycles.
- Provide impact assessments and testing of Banner solutions impacted by
Banner upgrades and point releases.
- Coordinate and manage upgrade analysis and testing processes through
each Banner instance (DEVL,TEST, PPRD, PROD).
- Design, modify, code, test, implement and document complex programs,
program modifications, or applications for the Banner Student system.
- Provide required analysis and development support of various SIS web
applications and Banner solutions.
-Be on call for critical/core systems/application support 24/7. The duties
and responsibilities of this position use home or off campus internet
service as a job expectation and the use of such internet service is for
business purposes.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Experience with SQL, PLSQL, XML, JAVA, Javascript, HTML and Oracle
DBMS.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Modify, develop, code, test, implement and document complex programs or
applications for the Banner Student / Financial Aid system as well as other
Banner System Solutions.
1. Design, code, test, implement and document complex mainframe and/or
web programs using state-of the-art program and system development tools,
languages and database structures with relative autonomy.
2. Code using languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, XML, C, C#, Java,
JavaScript, HTML, and others as needed for specific job responsibilities.
3. Application development against Oracle, and other database structures.
4. Provide quality testing, assist in development of test plans and investigate
testing results and track defects.
5. Determine / Document detail program and data requirements.
6. Execute and report status on assigned project tasks / milestones based
on priorities and guidance from the analyst/supervisor.
7. Implement modifications/enhancements efficiently.
8. Maintain appropriate documentation on assigned systems and programs.

product upgrades and point releases.
1. Serve as senior upgrade lead developer providing key analysis and
application development services in support of Banner upgrade cycles.
2. Provide impact assessments and testing of Banner solutions impacted by
Banner upgrades and point releases.
3. Provide direct support and coordination with Financial Aid clients and
other SIS technical resources to provide required upgrade support and
assistance.
3. Coordinate and manage upgrade analysis and testing processes through
each Banner instance (DEVL,TEST, PPRD, PROD).
4. Review Ellucian upgrade documentation and provide analysis and
recommendations to Upgrade planning efforts.
5. Participate in change management processes as it relates to upgrade
planning and communication.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Analyze, modify and enhance application systems and programs based on
client requests, business requirements and/or analyst/supervisor’s
instructions.
1. Provide requirements based system analysis and prepare detail solution
specifications based on client requests and/or senior analyst instructions.
2. Define, develop and implement programs from business requirements
and/or specifications consulting with clients or analyst/supervisor as needed.
2. Provide direct IT support and communication to clients in requirements
gathering, problem resolution, and project status reporting in coordination
with the analyst / supervisor.
3. Supervise and coordinate efforts of application analysts and programmers
in planning, designing, testing, documenting and installing information
systems.
4. Determine and write detail solution, data, and project specifications for
Student Information Services (SIS) technical support staff.
Review completed projects for accuracy and adherence to department
standards.
5. Interact with users and systems administrators to implement system policies and coordinate appropriate change management processes.

Participate in Training, mentoring and skill development
1. Function as a mentor to SIS staff
2. Train developers in the use of state of the art software tools and
programming methodologies
3. Maintain awareness of developing technologies, acquire and apply new
technical skills. Effectively convey new knowledge to other staff members.
4. Assist in developing and implementing structured training programs for
junior programmers in order to enhance SIS ability to support the Banner
Student / Financial Aid system.
5. Participate in personnel evaluation process of other staff.

Provide support and oversight to production application system operations
as assigned.
1. Be on call for critical/core systems/application support 24/7. The duties
and responsibilities of this position use home or off campus internet
service as a job expectation and the use of such internet service is for
business purposes.
2. Provide emergency response for critical systems
and applications.
3. Develop software solutions to satisfy customer ad hoc requirements.
4. Provide debug and troubleshooting of issues; formulate and implement
approved corrections.
