30-Oct-2019 Close All Job Summary The University of Colorado Boulder and the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering invites applications for a non-tenure track instructor position in Architectural Engineering to begin Fall 2020. We seek candidates with industry experience and interdisciplinary teaching interests in architectural engineering and architecture. The candidate should have a broad knowledge of foundations, processes, and principles of architecture to complement individual areas of emphasis in architectural engineering, including but are not limited to Construction Engineering Management, Lighting and Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Structural Systems, and Architectural Design.Who We AreArchitectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder is a premier education and research interdisciplinary program in building systems engineering. In particular, the program covers a wide range of building technologies including construction materials, structural, mechanical, electrical, and lighting systems as well as advanced controls with a focus on integrated and innovative solutions for designing and operating sustainable buildings and urban communities that are interconnected with smart grids for deep renewable energy penetration.
The Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering has 56 tenured/tenure-track, non-tenure track, and research faculty members in 6 engineering specialty areas and 4 interdisciplinary areas. The Department is home to more than 550 undergraduate and 275 graduate students. Architectural Engineering has approximately 200 undergraduate students and 50 graduate students in MS and PhD degree programs. Applicants will also be responsible for advising student groups and establishing new contacts with industry partners, and participating in Department committees and initiatives.Benefits

  • Successful candidates should hold an MS, MA, MArch or equivalent in one or both areas (Architectural Engineering-Building Systems and/or Architecture).
  • Industry experience in either or both fields.
  • Experience or demonstrated ability to teach lecture-style and studio courses.
