Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 60 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Located on the historic Eastern Shore, SU's beautiful campus is some 30 miles from the Atlantic beaches and 2.5 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Instructional Designer in the College of Health and Human Services.

Primary Job Duties: In collaboration with the ID&D staff, provide instructional design support to the College of Health and Human Services to design, develop, and maintain top quality distance learning courses (both hybrid and totally on-line) which are compliant with Quality Matters standards. Develop training programs for faculty in the use of instructional technology and in understanding related pedagogical principles.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or education and 3-5 years of work related experience. Certified in Quality Matters as a QM Peer Reviewer or Master Reviewer, or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

Skilled in the use of Learning Management Software (LMS), preferably Canvas, Salisbury University’s LMS. Familiarity with the use of conferencing software (Zoom, Big Blue Button), and software that pertains to the creation of content for online course design and delivery (Respondus, Camtasia, Panopto, iSpring, SoftChalk, Photoshop). Should be able to demonstrate an understanding of best practices and pedagogical issues related to online teaching and learning

Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills.  Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. 

This is a full-time, exempt contractual position with a limited benefits package including medical, prescription, dental, paid leave, tuition remission benefits and more. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
