Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

Nine-month, full-time, tenure track position to support the BS in Public Health Education (BSPHE) program. Responsibilities include:
1) Developing and teaching undergraduate public health education courses;
2) Mentoring students’ curricular, field -based learning, and research activities;
3) Developing and maintaining an active scholarly agenda with the potential to secure external funding;
4) Demonstrating an ability to foster collaborative relationships across disciplines, with the community at-large, and within the public health profession; and
5) Performing institutional and professional service tasks necessary to enhance program, departmental, college, and university goals.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Candidates must have an earned doctorate, or its foreign equivalent, in Public Health, or a closely related health field from a regionally or nationally accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered but the doctoral degree must be earned by July 2020.

Candidates must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and teaching skills; a record of successful scholarship through publications, presentations, grant writing, and external funding; and experience collaborating and serving the discipline through professional service.

Preferred qualifications include successful teaching experience at the college level, especially teaching upper level coursework in public health education, such as public health program planning and implementation, environmental health, epidemiology, biostatistics, and/or research methods.

In addition, the preferred candidate should have a record of scholarly publications in public health or a related field; a record of professional experience in public health education and practice; and active participation in relevant professional organizations. Candidates with experience in program accreditation are preferred.

The ideal candidate will also have experience obtaining external funding.

    In 2009, the Kennesaw State Owls completed a reclassification from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I, competing in the Atlantic Sun Conference. During the transition from 2005-2009, KSU teams have won six Atlantic Sun Conference tournaments in five sports, including men’s indoor and outdoor track, women’s soccer, softball and cross-country.

    Kennesaw State was originally established by the University System of Georgia as Kennesaw Junior College serving 1,000 students.
