Job Details
Under the direction of the Chairman’s Office, this position serves a crucial role in supporting the academic and clinical divisions of the department. Responsibilities require the handling of tasks and information with competence, efficiency, confidentiality, commitment and devotion, and all are of central importance in the global process of education, research and health care delivery to all customer.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Keyboarding speed 60 wpm.
- Two years of secretarial experience required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs - Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook (must be proficient with scheduling in Outlook).
- Must have knowledge of and be able to navigate through Banner, Web Report Library and Med Ed for student evaluations and grades preferred.
- Experience in a medical academic position and knowledge of clerkship and/or residency programs.
- Must have excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task and work with interruptions.
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Must have the ability to prepare research grant applications, abstracts, as well as manuscript preparation and editing.
- Must work well under pressure and have demonstrated dependability
- Must have the ability to formulate letters from verbal communication.
- Must have the ability to calculate fractions, decimals and percentages.
- Ability and willingness to be flexible and cooperative in handling and adapting to change in conjunction with the needs of the department.
Computer access is available at most public libraries and at the Office of Human Resources located in the Center for Administrative Support on Main Campus.
