Drew University is seeking a Coordinator of Residential Engagement in the Office of Student Engagement. The Coordinator of Residential Engagement (CRE) is a live-in position that is crucial to the culture of student engagement on campus for undergraduate and graduate students and a key partner in assisting the deployment of our Launch program(s). The Residence Life duties of this role include serving on a 24-hour duty rotation, providing crisis intervention and assistance to resolve issues, and supervising a staff of Resident Assistants working with undergraduate and graduate students. The CRE is also responsible for engaging students on our campus through opportunities with campus programs and our Launch curriculum. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Student Engagement for Residence Life and is a 12-month, full time role, including on-campus housing (required) and a partial meal stipend. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide crisis intervention and assessment for students in need, through on-call emergency response on a 6-person rotational basis covering up to 1600 residential students. 
  • Supervise student staff, including Resident Assistants and Desk Attendants.
  • The CRE will support and advise clubs and organizations, provide programming and support in collaboration with the Launch initiative and partner with departments and off-campus resources.
  • Promote a safe and healthy living and learning environment by implementing community standards to be followed by all residential students. 
  • Manage Complex operations including the opening and closing of residence halls, administration and management of room keys, room changes, work orders and follow-up with maintenance and facility issues. 

     

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or a related field, preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience, or two years in a graduate program assistantship required. 

     

Ideal Education and Experience:

Experience with and an ability to provide crisis intervention for students in need, preferred.
