Position Summary

Manages academic operations employment team including but not limited to overseeing hiring and other employment action processing for all faculty and academic staff populations including Tenure and Continuing System faculty, Fixed Term Faculty, UNTF, Graduate Employee, Undergraduate Professorial Assistants and No-Pay employees. Oversees staff in administration of special academic review processes such Reappointment, Promotion and Tenure (RPT) reviews, Specialists Reviews, Librarians, FRIB, etc. Serves as primary back up to manager of support staff employment functions. Serves as member of Solutions Center management team and supports any Solutions Center team area as needed due to absence or emergency situations (Academic Operations employment, Support Staff employment, Records Management, Customer Service and Compliance.) Engages in continuous process improvements in areas of responsibility.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a human resources area or a related degree; 3 to 5 years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in management and data base system analysis and maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Higher education experience strongly desired. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates strong leadership and analytical skills managing a team's current workload and forecasting for future needs. Excellent work ethic and a high level of motivation and productivity. Experience in employee relations, employee development and performance management processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking. Experience with applicant tracking tools and human resource information systems. Experience leading human resource projects/initiatives. Experience with HR process development and documentation.
