Bachelor’s Degree required. Three years relevant administrative assistant experience. Experience in Higher Education is highly desirable. Experience in public relations, social media (platforms to include Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and snapchat) is desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Performs advanced administrative support duties for the College of Health Sciences, to include college event planning, social media and web site updates for all departments within the college.

Primary Responsibilities

Performs administrative support duties. Assists Dean, and/or Associate Deans with daily tasks. Collects, reconciles, and maintains complex data. Coordinates and implements departmental processes. In depth knowledge of event planning, public relations, managing social media. Monitors project timelines and identifies issues. Planning events for the College is a large portion of job duties and may require working evenings and weekends. Prepares, reviews, revises and distributes documents and correspondence. Knowledge of P-Card and purchasing policies is preferred. Provides departmental and university information to students, departments, and staff. Coordinates and supervises program activities. Maintains the calendar, daily transactional duties and support duties for the associate deans. Help maintain and create policies and procedures for departments within the COHS. Work closely with University Marketing & Communications and Enrollment Management Marketing, serving as the college liaison by providing information and content. Create compelling content for a range of communication mediums both online and print. Research, verify and write copy. Interview sources when appropriate. Identify and determine topics or subjects for publicity promotion and recruitment/enrollment. Identify college enrollment needs and communicate those needs to the Enrollment Management team member assigned to the college. Adhere to all university branding guidelines and Marketing & Communications policies. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications

Detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies and procedures is preferred. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement.
