The Contra Costa College Department of Athletics is seeking a head men's soccer coach to begin this semester. This is a part-time coaching position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Direct all aspects of Contra Costa College’s men’s soccer program as the head coach while working with the Athletics Director
• Recruitment of service area high schools and contiguous districts’ students/athletes
• Development of the men’s soccer program
• Maintain the schedule and budget of the men’s soccer program
• Selection of assistant coaches
• Possess knowledge of all Commission on Athletics and Bay Valley Conference rules and regulations
• Fundraising for the men’s soccer program
• Retention of students/athletes at the college level

Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience:
Any bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.

Desirable Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education or Education with an emphasis in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Physiology of exercise or Adaptive Physical Education and two years experience in soccer coaching; OR Associate’s Degree in Physical Education or Education with an emphasis in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Physiology of exercise or Adaptive Physical Education and six years experience in soccer coaching
2. Knowledge of California Community College Commission on Athletics rules and regulations and Bay Valley Conference rules
3. Experience in recruitment and retention of student/athletes at the college level
4. Organizational skills and ability to teach soccer skills to all age groups
5. Experience in fund raising and community service activities
6. Demonstrated experience with sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic background of the community college student
7. Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in physical education or related area preferred
