The Women's Volleyball Assistant Coach reports directly to the Women's Volleyball Head Coach. Primary responsibilities are those of Recruiting Coordinator including evaluation of and correspondence with Prospective Student Athletes. The Women's Volleyball Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting in all phases of a Division I intercollegiate women's volleyball program which includes compliance paperwork, travel coordination, video analysis, training and camp programs. Must be committed to the academic goals of the university and follow the rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA and the Mountain West Conference. Incumbent must address the needs of a student population of great diversity - in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation - through course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.
Required Qualifications-Bachelor's degree is required
-Demonstrated successful Division I collegiate women¿s volleyball coaching experience
-Demonstrated commitment to the retention and academic success of student-athletes
-Demonstrated coaching and recruiting success, experience in organizing and motivating student-athletes to maximum performance level
-Demonstrated ability to work, communicate and develop rapport with students, alumni, administration and community groups
-Demonstrated thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA regulations
-Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.
Preferred Qualifications-Master's degree
-Collegiate and/or professional playing experience.

Additional InformationSatisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. SJSU will issue a contingent offer of employment to the selected candidate, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
