St. Charles Community College is located just west of St. Louis, nestled in the heart of growing St. Charles County. Established in 1986, SCC is a public, comprehensive two-year community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs in the arts, business, sciences and career-technical fields. SCC also provides workforce training and community-based personal and professional development as well as cultural, recreational and entertainment opportunities.

We are seeking a full-time Tier 2 Technical Support Analyst who will analyze and determine user software needs; ensure effective operation of audio visual for classroom and community events, and provide other high-level instructional and technical support for the academic and community functions of the College on the main campus and off-site location(s).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

    Meets with users and determine specifications and network configurations needed for new and existing software. Provides instructional and technical support to staff, faculty, and students for computers, AV needs, and printing and other miscellaneous hardware and software.Analyzes information (specifications compared to the workstations and network it will be installed on) and works with the vendor to resolve any technical issues. Deploys images and reviews special policies or permissions that need to be setup. Works directly with the user to resolve computer and network support needs. Verifies software license information. Analyzes software to determine if installation will be on a network or standalone.Sets up, troubleshoots printers, scanners, fax/copiers, and ensures connectivity to the network by proper configuration.Creates system documentation for our records and create any needed user documentation. Documents technical procedures for reporting and training. Trains technology support staff, as needed.Performs testing of software on new operating systems. Sets up a testing environment with the requested software to ensure software will run properly. Researches and recommends new versions of software or other compatible software for the user.Trainer for Technology Support Technician's Level I.Provides basic audio/visual equipment maintenance. Sets up audio/visual equipment such as video camera, audio amplifiers, and computers, along with slide, video and overhead projectors. Assists with the operation and maintenance of interactive video classrooms. Duplicates video materials. Videotape campus activities.Provides media instruction for faculty, staff and community. Provides recommendations concerning instructional material (e.g. replacement or new audio/visual equipment) to the AV Project Coordinator or Director of Technology Support.Operates audio/visual equipment, including projectors, recorders, satellite dishes, data projectors, distribution amplifiers, cameras, mixer/editor; photography equipment; overhead, slide and 16mm projectors; personal computer. Installs projectors including pulling cable, and other miscellaneous functions.Administers all video production activities for SCC including planning, shooting and editing all video productions. Manages the TV Studio and assists faculty with classroom activities, including instructional sessions with studio equipment (switcher, teleprompter, cameras, etc.)Complies with IT procedure for reporting child pornography on SCC equipment.

Education and/or Experience

    Associate's degree from two-year College; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience deploying software to computers using SCCM, loading software, and basic hardware knowledge. Experience with PowerShell is preferred. Technical knowledge of a Windows and Mac operating system preferred. Knowledge of Active Directory preferred.Understanding of Microsoft Windows Server environment including Active Directory, group policies, and permissions. Experience with audiovisual technology; including projectors, video equipment, Smartboards and document cameras preferred. Experience documenting standard operating procedures, processes, and other administrative functions. Self-motivated, task oriented, focused on resolving issues, and ability to function with minimal supervision. Conceptual knowledge of network and physical security principles. Effective working in a team and as an individual contributor.
