Position SummaryThe Communications and Program Administrator creates, implements, and maintains dynamic media and communications strategies for the NYU Center for the Humanities and helps manage the demands of the Center’s various programs and events. ● Design and manage the Center’s media output, including the website, videos, images, blog posts, etc; coordinates all digital and print content and email marketing to support the Center’s mission. ● Coordinate with humanities faculty and other key constituents to publicize the Center’s own and sponsored projects and events; organize weekly events series held at the Center and other locations across campus. ● Manage application cycles for and multimedia documentation of the Center’s grants, fellowships, and research programs. ● Supervise student employees responsible for developing multimedia content and planning/staffing events and programming. The candidate should have experience in marketing and communications strategies, and possess superior design skills; be excited by big ideas, deep research, and the activity of thinking for its own sake; and enjoy working in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating and demanding small team environment. Please note this is a three-year fixed-term position.QualificationsRequired Education:Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:2+ years of professional experience in managing websites, graphic design, social media, and communications and content strategies, event management, or program management.Preferred Experience:Experience of higher education or comparable cultural organization.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Strong knowledge of and experience with WordPress (PC and Mac platforms), email marketing (MailChimp), social media management, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with audio/visual media production. Excellent organizational, communication, and technology skills. Excellent time and project management skills.
