Facilities Services. The Controls Technician serves as a point of contact for HVAC Technicians and Crew Leaders; answers questions and solves issues that cannot be diagnosed and solved related to building automation controls and control systems.
Essential Functions
•Installs and calibrates all types of HVAC and electrical controls (electronic and digital); equipment including pneumatic controls, electrical lines, and low voltage controls such as thermostats, sequences, valves, actuators switches, contractors, sensors, relays and JCI installed equipment (controllers, sensors, transducers).
•Troubleshoots and repairs control systems on air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, chillers and lift stations using manufacturer’s information.
•Installs wire and places into operation for retrofit controllers for boilers and air conditioning equipment.
•Responds to emergency calls and/or work orders related to air conditioning, heating, hot water equipment and ventilation systems controls.
•Provides guidance to A/C Mechanics in performing the duties of their jobs.
•Installs wiring and start-up of Variable Frequency Drives.
•Installs Fire Alarm systems, wiring and programming.
•Maintains inventory to eliminate down-time in production.
