The Senior Research Analyst will be a primary contributor to the evolving research portfolio within ACE’ Learning and Engagement Division. The ideal candidate is an individual who thrives in a team environment while having the confidence to work independently. Intersecting areas of research will include diversity and equity in higher education, student access and success, international education, and leadership in higher education. Strong quantitative research skills are required.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES OR TASKS

  • Lead and contribute to the production of reports, briefs, memos, and other print and digital products intended for a diverse audience of higher education leaders, practitioners, and policymakers.
  • Design research studies; employ quantitative, qualitative, survey, and mixed-methods analysis.
  • Lead data collection and analyses efforts for the ACE Mapping Internationalization on U.S. Campuses survey.
  • Coordinate and effectively manage multiple research projects and/or discrete research tasks simultaneously, including the development of project timelines, deliverables, and areas of immediate and long-term action.
  • Conduct literature reviews.
  • Serve as a resource to the team around quantitative methods and assist in reviewing quantitative work produced by the team.
  • Effectively liaise with internal ACE units (e.g., editorial, design, marketing, and public affairs staff) to publish research products and carry out dissemination activities.
  • Work with external collaborators including faculty members, other researchers, and funding partners on jointly produced and commissioned work.
  • Translate scholarly and other evidence-based work for practitioner audiences.
  • Contribute to the training and supervision of ACE Graduate Research Associates.
  • Provide research support to other ACE units as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES

REQUIRED

  1. Master’s degree in higher education, international education, economics, sociology, public policy, or related field
  2. Demonstrated experience in quantitative research as a primary method and experience with statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, SAS)
  3. Experience with and strong working knowledge of large datasets (e.g., NPSAS, HSLS, IPEDS, ACS, CPS)
  4. Experience contributing to a research team, including the management of colleagues on discrete tasks
  5. Evidence of strong writing, communication, and project management skills.

PREFERRED

  1. Doctorate in higher education, international education, economics, sociology, public policy, or related field
  2. Proficiency with Stata statistical software 3.Proficiency with Qualtrics survey research software
