Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Two years relevant specialist experience or experience in a related field. Experience working with technology preferred. Experience in Higher Education, complex business environment, or specialized work is desirable. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.

Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs highly advanced specialist duties for the Development office. Coordinates and executes all capital campaign initiatives in cooperation with development staff.

Primary Responsibilities
Performs highly advanced specialist duties. Accountable for the execution and follow through of complex and technical responsibilities. Plans, develops, implements, coordinates and monitors programs or services. Responds to information requests. Collects, reconciles, and maintains complex data. Coordinates and implements departmental processes. Monitors project timelines and identifies issues. Prepares letters, correspondence, and reports. Plans and coordinates events. Develops, coordinates, and implements assigned processes. Oversees website. Provides assistance with and interprets policies and procedures. Coordinates and supervises program activities. Records and tracks campaign pledges. Produces capital campaign correspondence. Works with major gift officers to produce campaign proposals, supporting documentation, and follow-up correspondence. Handles incidental details related to the capital campaign as specified. Prepares financial and statistical reports, charts, and graphs necessary for gift proposals and campaign updates. Prepares lists, spreadsheets, presentations, and agendas for staff appointments with prospects, campaign meetings, and events. Maintains records regarding campaign pledges and tracking, including the production of statements for outstanding pledge balances. Interfaces frequently in person and over the telephone with high level donors and prospects. Coordinates campaign calendar and appointment schedules for major gift staff. Plans, coordinates, prepares material, and executes all campaign meetings and events. Attends campaign committee meetings and events. Coordinates all meetings, schedules, and calendars with donors, prospects, and administrators. Prepares prospect management reports and campaign updates. Oversees the maintenance of accurate records and information for the campaign. Completes accounting, budgeting, and purchasing for capital campaign resources and supplies. Makes updates to the donor database as needed by the major gift staff. Determines work priorities, develops schedules, and plans the processing of work. Oversees incoming and outgoing phone calls, and correspondence for donors, volunteers, campus, departments, and administrators. Performs highly responsible administrative assignments and coordinates administrative services for a department administrator and other development officers. Represents campaign director in their absence at all functions. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement. High degree of professionalism while maintaining complete confidentiality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with a variety of campaign volunteers and with the campus community. Strong ability to prepare program proposals, reports, and correspondence as necessary. Requires detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies and procedures. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement. Frequent contact with university departments, personnel, outside agencies and individuals. Must be a self-starter with considerable independent judgement in the management of an office. Works closely and cooperatively with the Office of the President and Alumni Relations Office. Attention and care is required in the performance of duties to prevent injury to self or others. Position may require evening and weekend hours.
