Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job

Academic
•Teach 4 courses per academic year
•Maintain an active research program in the candidate’s area of expertise
•Mentor graduate students in your area of research expertise
•Identify and initiate curricular innovations/changes
•Develop the program, as appropriate, to grow and adapt to changes in the field
•Maintain and evolve policies that ensure student success
Administrative
•Supervise the implementation of the curriculum for the MA program
•Develop, oversee, and supervise practicum/field placements of students
•Monitor student progress in the program and support recruitment and enrollment efforts
•Collaborate with both the college and university on marketing, recruitment, and admissions
•Prepare administrative reports
•Manage requirements and relationships with accrediting bodies and internal partners
•Engage in department, college, and university service

Educational Requirements for the Position

Candidates should have a doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited university and must be either licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in Texas.

Experience Required for the Position

Candidates must possess tenure or have spent at least 5 years in a tenure-track position at an accredited institution.

Other Requirements for the Position

We are particularly interested in a colleague who has at least 5 years of clinical experience, has administrative experience such as supervising clinical/practica placements, has a sustained research agenda, and has the capacity to lead the program during changes to Texas licensure requirements.
