Academic Affairs. The Communications Coordinator provides the day-to-day management and coordination of communication and marketing initiatives for a division, college, or department. Interacts with stakeholders and contributes to development of communication plans and marketing activity to advance the mission of the unit and University.
Essential Functions
•Develops and implements effective communication strategies and creative methods using print, web based and multi-media to advance the mission of Academic Affairs.
•Gathers news, creates and implements communications plans, develops messaging, writes stories and coordinates dissemination of story packages.
•Seeks compelling narratives and develops materials to support the division and University’s strategic communications goals and to convey key program results.
•Researches, plans, writes and edits content for the departmental website; uses data to evaluate the content’s impact.
•Recommends ideas, improvements, and best practices to edit and refresh the website; oversees the design and maintenance of departmental website.
•Advises on local and national external communications opportunities to market programs and faculty research.
•Collaborates with University of Communications and Marketing to coordinate communications efforts and ensure consistent messaging
