Job Summary:

The Director of Testing is responsible for leadership, direction, and management of the full service college testing offices.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Bachelors degree in education, computers, statistic, math, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Demonstrated understanding of the application of technology to deliver testing services, including placement tests and proctoring.
Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
Three (3) years of experience working in the field of testing with a thorough understanding of testing procedures, test administration, tracking, scoring and interpretation.
Analytical, strict attention to detail.
Excellent verbal, written, listening, reading, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Ability to respect and handle confidential information and test security at all times.
High degree of reliability and integrity.
Ability to do research related to testing and present findings, maintain records and reports.
Planning, management and supervision experience.
Ability to collaborate effectively with college departments, faculty, and cross-functional teams.
A proven record in working successfully with diverse populations.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Testing experience at a Community College that offers both paper and computer-based tests preferred.

Essential Duties:

Overseeing the day-to-day processing of testing functions to achieve maximum customer service.
Manage the departmental budget.
Manage the implementation of testing processes related to the student system modules, including problem solving, user testing and enhancements.
Develop, direct, and implement procedures for the administration of all testing activities.
Create, collect, maintain, and provide reports on operational data for testing departments to supervisor and other departments or colleges.
Provide advice, research, testing consultation, tracking, and SIS configuration.
Collaborate with IR, College Alliance, Registration, Records, Admissions, Academic Advising, and faculty on test selection, implementation, and distribution.

Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.

Streamwood Center: In 1998, the college and Village of Streamwood remodeled the lower level of Village Hall to include computer and general purpose classrooms. Classes offered there make it easier for those who live in the eastern portions of ECC’s district to attend college.

Satelitte Campuses: ECC holds classes throughout the northwest suburbs at off-campus locations scattered across the district. Whether it is a medical center where ECC nursing students assist in patient care, a fire station where students transform into prospective lifesavers, or a nearby forest preserve where bird watching takes over on Saturday mornings, ECC classes are somewhere nearby.
