Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applications for a Data & Reporting Analyst in the Department of Institutional Research. Analyzes data, produces IR Data Analysis Reports with executive summaries, and presentations of findings. Works collaboratively with academic departments and support units to translate data findings into actionable recommendations and survey improvements. Compiles complex data and develops institutional reports for internal and external reporting requirements. Internal reporting include the compilation of data for standardized reports that are distributed to the administration. External reporting includes state and federal requirements, accreditation data reports, and publishing companies that are submitted at various intervals throughout the year.


Plans, develops, and conducts special research and data management projects using computer information systems and specialized software packages. Works with assessment professionals and information technologists to develop specialized data analysis programs. Coordinates the data retrieval process utilizing available databases.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree and professional experience in Institutional Research or a related field. Demonstrates analytical, reporting, computing, and writing skills; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple projects, meet ambitious deadlines, and work independently; advanced proficiency in Cognos, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including the ability to present information effectively, both oral and written. Exceptional ability to analyze and synthesize information and draw appropriate conclusions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a higher education institution preferred. Experience with Cognos and Ellucian’s Operational Data Store is preferred.
