The Department of Family Medicine has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) SPLIT Business Analyst.

Jobs in this career family provide general business operations of the organization or a combination of operational responsibilities covering multiple career families.  Functions include institutional research, statistical analysis, policy development and review, strategic planning and broad unit business operations such as parking and transportation services, risk management, childcare services, real estate and property management, retail services or job responsibilities that combine fiscal, HR and operational management responsibilities.
Principal Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. Work is performed at an advanced or expert level. 
Principal Professionals are either work leads over others or are considered a subject matter expert in a particular area.
Position Emphasis:The mission of the Practice Innovation Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (PIP@CU) is to foster innovation in health and healthcare. We aim to be a leading source of innovative tools, support, education, evaluation, and research designed to improve healthcare practices, systems, and communities of health. This position will be the subject matter expert on the Shared practice Learning and Improvement Tool (SPLIT), serve on the platform development team and support the projects that use SPLIT.
Specific duties include:
  • Understand and evaluate user operation inquiries and system requirements, collect data requirements and connect with diverse business units to outline solutions to business needs and document business details, including developing detailed design requirements and conducting specifications evaluation.
  • Act as a liaison between internal technology personnel and business teams. Evaluate SPLIT processes, anticipate and prioritize new features/requirements, discover areas for improvement, and configure and implement standards and solutions in SPLIT or Survey Tools.
  • Complete test plans and test cases by carrying out tests, assessing and documenting reports, settling issues and ascertaining correlated procedures, and ensuring documentation are updated.
  • Support requirement definition, documentation and functional requirements to meet business needs, including documenting user stories for SPLIT updates and on boarding new projects in SPLIT.
  • Configure the SPLIT platform to a project’s needs; train end users on new business processes and use of SPLIT; communicate changes and updates to SPLIT and associated business processes; provide Tier 2 Support to users who need more assistance than the Help Desk provides
  • Set up surveys in survey tools (Qualtrics and Redcap); generate reports and other data outputs.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring range starts at $65,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting , education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution. Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • The position requires extensive, diverse and progressively responsible experience, including direct responsibility for software product development and project management. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s level training in information technology, business administration, or other related discipline.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Experience working with various survey tools (Qualtrics, RedCap) and other programs, including Tableau and SQL.
  • Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Basecamp, or Trello.
  • Experience working with clients to gather system or software requirements. 
  • Experience influencing stakeholders, conducting product testing, and implementing new products.
