Basic Function

Provide supervision and assistance for DMS students engaged in open lab practice and study, enforcing safety/lab policies, summons assistance for injured/ill students as needed and reports missing and broken equipment. Communicates with DMS faculty regarding students’ laboratory skills development and adherence to college and DMS program policies regarding student conduct and professionalism. Collects scan model waiver forms and inconsistent findings reports as required when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in a Diagnostic Medical Sonography discipline or equivalent education, experience and training. Some clinical experience as a certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.Ultrasound registry certification such as RDMS, RVT, and/or RDCS

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a Diagnostic Medical Sonography discipline or equivalent education, experience and training. Some clinical experience as a certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Previous clinical or DMS laboratory teaching experience. Multiple Ultrasound registry certifications such as RDMS and RVT or RVT and RDCS

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working knowledge as a certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (e.g. RDMS, RVT, RDCS). Ability to self-direct and multitask. Ability to assist students with developing ultrasound scanning skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
