Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

This is a ranked non-tenure-track status university faculty position that performs all the activities of an assistant professor in the department. These include effective teaching and quality research in one or more of the disciplines represented in the department: Business Intelligence, Business Strategy, Data Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Human Resources Management, Management, and Marketing.
Participates in the following areas:
1.Scholarly activities, teaching and service at a level necessary to support the School’s mission and help maintain SACSCOC and AACSB accreditation standards.
2.Governance of the School and the University, and serving on appropriate committees responsible for academic policymaking and/or other decisions.
3.Non-class activities benefitting students such as directing an extracurricular activity, and providing academic and career advising.

Essential Duties Summary:

Effective teaching of courses in the undergraduate and/or graduate curriculum in the department of BADM. Maintain professional development and ensure currency in teaching areas as needed. Quality research that aligns to the mission of the JHJ School of Business. Service that enhances the department, School of Business, and University’s standing. Other duties as assigned by the Chairperson.

Education:

Terminal degree from an AACSB accredited institution. ABDs in advanced dissertation stage may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have knowledge in the areas of teaching. Must conduct research that aligns with the mission of the School. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population. Must have the ability to use personal computers and Microsoft Office software.

Work Experience:

Appropriate work experience that is consistent with AACSB or SACS requirements.

Working/Environmental Conditions:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements. Position requires light physical activity (i.e., mostly office jobs).
