Job Description
The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Department of Educational Leadership in the College of Education and Human Development invites applications for a non-tenure track, nine-month position as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Educational Administration to begin spring 2020. This will be a one-year appointment. We seek candidates committed to excellence in teaching both practice-based and education studies courses. Specifically, the faculty member would teach in the principal preparation program and could potentially teach in the doctoral program in Educational Leadership based on needs of that program.

We encourage applications from candidates committed to the instruction and support of a diverse student population and from those who will enrich and contribute to the College and Department. This position would be focused on teaching and some service to the department in the form of administrative support of the principal preparation program. The teaching load would be 4-5 courses per semester.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Visiting Assistant Professor are assigned by the academic Department Chair. The Visiting Assistant Professor facilitates a learning environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of varying cultures or backgrounds. The successful candidate should be committed to collegiality and innovation in teaching and learning, and be willing to provide service to the principal preparation program and department.

Required Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in Educational Administration/Leadership from an accredited university.
  • Experience supervising or otherwise working closely with campus principals and experience in K-12 settings.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in higher education teaching at the graduate level.
  • Ability to incorporate high impact education strategies for higher education into course delivery.
