• Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
• Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising
• Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives
• Participates in curriculum development and revision that stress innovation and multi-cultural emphasis
• Participates in department recruiting and retention activities
• Participates in a variety of departmental, campus and college-wide programs, activities and committees
• Serves as a resource person for adjunct faculty
• Teaches day, evening and weekend classes as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Master’s degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Business Administration, or Restaurant Management and at least two years of relevant industry experience in Culinary Arts or Hospitality; or Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in any of the previously listed fields and at least two years of relevant industry experience in Culinary Arts or Hospitality.
• All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
• Familiarity with and use of collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction
• Possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
• Demonstrated effective use of active learning techniques
• Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
• Start date for this Faculty position is anticipated to begin by Spring 2020
• Doctoral stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
