This Faculty member teaches Accounting courses. This is a full-time Faculty (FAC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

  • Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
  • Participates in curriculum development and revision
  • Supervises and coordinates field experiences and/or internships
  • Serves as a resource for other Faculty members and other program areas
  • Serves on School, Campus and College committees
  • Recruits, advises and evaluates students
  • Participates in departmental and College affairs
  • Prepares and submits student information to Department Chairperson
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Master's degree in Accounting or a Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution and 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting; or Master's degree in Taxation from an accredited institution and a valid CPA license
  • Ability to function well in a technological environment that includes using classroom and office multimedia resources
  • Ability to demonstrate effective use of active learning and problem solving techniques
  • Possess sound knowledge of teaching principles, remain current in research of the discipline and demonstrate knowledge of National and State Standards
  • Possess excellent communication skills and ablity to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, staff and the community
  • Possess excellent organizational and human relations skills
  • Doctoral stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Start date for this Faculty position is anticipated to begin by Fall 2020
