JOB PURPOSE:
Stanford Travel/Study, a program of the Stanford Alumni Association (SAA), annually offers more than 60 unique travel opportunities to Stanford alumni, family and friends. The marketing team within Travel/Study is comprised of two marketing specialists who report to the senior marketing manager and is responsible for scheduling, managing and executing both digital and print marketing of trips from start to finish. This team works closely with the program operations and client relations teams and senior management within Travel/Study, as well as externally with digital producers, graphic designers, freelance writers and other external partners, to reach sales and marketing targets. The marketing manager is primarily responsible for digital marketing but also provides support with print projects.
We are looking for an exceptional writer and project manager who can juggle multiple projects in a detail-oriented and deadline-driven environment. Travel/Study is an effective and cohesive team of twenty; the marketing manager must be an enthusiastic contributor and team player. Members of the Travel/Study staff escort trips, both domestic and international—managing all aspects of travel and of the participant experience. SAA staff also participate in activities that enhance the department and team mission, support the endeavors of other departments and promote SAA's commitment to the Stanford community.
CORE DUTIES*:
Develop, publish and maintain content for the Travel/Study website: oversee workflow for annual launch of 60+ trip pages, build new pages and edit existing pages
Develop email campaigns, including content development (copywriting and image research), selection of target audience, scheduling and coordination with the SAA Digital and Data team
Implement trip marketing plans to meet business objectives, including collaboration with internal and SAA stakeholders and vendor partners
Write and edit marketing copy for trip brochures, email and the web, adhering to the Travel/Study brand and SAA style guidelines
Perform analysis of digital marketing efforts to increase reach and effectiveness
Conduct image research and assist with management of digital assets
Develop and document efficient process work flows
May plan and execute events to support marketing objectives
Trip escorting and management: Execute program's daily schedule; coordinate with vendors and program partners; solve problems and make decisions independently; manage expenses; engage participants; introduce faculty and special guests; and maintain a high profile representation of Stanford University and SAA

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Previous experience in product, program and/or services marketing
Digital marketing experience preferred
Ability to work independently to meet expected deadlines and schedules
Experience with managing projects
Detail oriented and extremely organized
Creative minded with problem solving ability
Demonstrated team player

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, speaking.
Occasionally grasp forcefully, writing by hand.
Rarely sort/file paperwork.
Occasionally lift and carry 10-20 pounds of marketing material and office supplies.
