SummaryThe senior communications specialist assists the director of advancement communications and marketing in creating and executing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that supports Tulane University school-based, annual fund, principal & major gifts and planned giving advancement officers. The senior communication specialist has the ability to work under minimal supervision and is a detail-oriented project manager that has the ability to work quickly, accurately and thoroughly. The senior communications specialist establishes and meet deadlines in an environment with frequent interruptions and sometimes tight timelines. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can support key areas of fundraising and implement a spectrum of communications services while maintaining brand standards. The senior communication specialist must have exceptional client service skills and a strong command of media relations.
Required Qualifications- A Bachelor's degree
- At least four years of experience in marketing, communications, advertising or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with using photography and videography in marketing communications
- Integrated marketing communications strategy and tactics
- Some knowledge of annual and major giving strategies
- Marketing research experience
- Aptitude for emerging technology
- Strong knowledge of media relations and proven ability to secure coverage
