Orchestra and Wind Ensemble Conductor

POSITION: The School of Music at Illinois Wesleyan University invites applications for an Instrumental Conducting position with an open rank tenure-line faculty appointment to begin August 1, 2020. Illinois Wesleyan is a highly selective, undergraduate liberal arts university of approximately 1650 students. The School of Music offers a comprehensive music program and is an accredited institutional member of NASM. The successful applicant will direct the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, teach in an area of expertise, and contribute to the goals and mission of the School. The successful applicant will also help with recruitment, advising, and service to the School of Music and the University. QUALIFICATIONS AND SALARY: Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree in Music by August 2020, or commensurate experience, and have a record of distinguished and active teaching and artistic or scholarly achievement. The successful candidate should demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across the School. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
