Job Details

Rider University is seeking an energetic individual to serve as Assistant Director of Community Standards.  The Assistant Director will have duties including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Assisting the Director of Community Standards in the oversight and implementation of the student judicial process
  • Conducting student administrative hearings; imposing/recommending sanctions consistent with policy requirements and case precedent
  • Authoring and delivering administrative directives to students and guests as needed
  • Producing statistical and informational reports regarding staff case load, policy violations and sanction completion
  • Overseeing the completion of all community restitution and education sanctions for all undergraduate students
  • Developing community restitution/student judicial sanctioning programs and options for implementation
  • Acting as University representative at Community Standards Board hearings
  • Conducting recruitment and training of Community Standards Board members
  • Overseeing University Traffic Ticket Appeals Board
  • Serving as a Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) Trainer or other similar nationally recognized training program
  • Participating in campus wide committees and programs, as well as “Late Night and Weekend Programming” initiatives. 
  • Working with the Director and Title IX Coordinator on responsibilities related to the University’s Title IX process as it relates to the Student Code of Social Conduct

Qualified candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree, as well as experience in Student Conduct, Greek Life, Residence Life, and/or Campus Activities.  A Master’s degree is preferred. Individual must possess: experience with assessment tools and learning outcomes; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; demonstrated understanding of and commitment to students with diverse identities and backgrounds; and flexibility with work schedule.
