Provide a brief statement of the position duties. The School of Education, Leadership & Public Service at Northern Michigan University invites applications for a tenure track, campus-based, Director of Field Experiences position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in August, 2020.

Responsibilities include coordinating field-based experience for all professional education placements for Teacher Education programs; working with school administrators, teachers and field personnel to identify and maintain successful field experiences; supervision of teacher certification candidates in their student teaching practicum.
Required Education: Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree
Discipline/Degree Area: Teacher Education, Educational Leadership or other related area
Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
Required Minimum Work Experience: Three years successful teaching experience in K-12 schools

Applicants who are ABD may apply. However, the position requires evidence of degree completion no later than August 19, 2020.
Knowledge, skills, abilities or attributes required. -Knowledge of professional standards for teaching and teacher evaluation frameworks
-Experience establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with university and K-12 colleagues
-Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and K12 partners
-Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Additional Desirable Qualifications: -Relevant and successful university teaching and supervision experience
-Experience in supervising office staff
-Evidence of scholarly accomplishments and/or evidence of ability to create a record of professional presentations and publications
-A record of service on committees within or beyond education

5) To direct the President’s attention to issues regarding diversity on campus and in the surrounding communities.
6) To submit a report that enumerates and evaluates the Committee’s activities and makes recommendations, including recommendations regarding resource allocation, to the President by June 1 each year.
