Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Science and Mathematics at Kennesaw State University invites applications for a permanent, non-tenure track nine-month lecturer position to begin Fall 2020. Teaching assignments will include 15 contact hours per week of undergraduate laboratories and lectures. Primary instructional duties will be in the introductory and organic chemistry courses with additional duties in nursing chemistry (GOB courses). The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and contribute to the quality and growth of the program. Applicants should be strongly committed to inclusive teaching practices and student success among the college’s disciplines and be ready to invest deeply in KSU students. In addition to teaching, faculty are expected to meet service expectations of the department, college, and university.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Qualified applicants will have: 1) a minimum of a master’s degree in organic chemistry or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in chemistry, biochemistry, a closely related field, or its foreign equivalent; 2) prior experience in teaching college level introductory and organic chemistry lectures.

Candidates specializing in all sub-disciplines of chemistry are welcome to apply. However, preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated teaching excellence in college level introductory and/or organic chemistry lecture courses. Experience with evidence-based inquiry-driven teaching strategies (such as PLTL, POGIL or flipped lectures) is highly desirable.
