Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or other related field. Three years relevant experience or experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Performs complex administrative and supervisory program work for the Office of Research Administration.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Training Coordinator: Plans, develops, and delivers a comprehensive training program to clients (faculty and research staff) and central administration for all post-award research administration activities. Works with ORA and departments to facilitate training on various research administration topics. Communicates progress and barriers to training to stakeholders in an efficient and effective manner. Identifies training opportunities and implements training plans, to include face to face training, online training, and departmental trainings.
2. Policy Coordinator: utilizes extensive knowledge of sponsor rules and regulations to identify, review and recommend changes and revisions to current SHSU Office of Research Administration procedures, identify gaps and omissions in current SOPs and procedures to meet current and emerging sponsored requirements and develop new SOPs and procedures to more effectively support effective and compliant grant and contract management.
3. Performs other related duties as assigned to support the Office of Research Administration.

Other Specifications

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and Uniform Guidance. Ability to supervise business functions. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, and other agencies.
