Seeking Regional Initiatives in Dental Education (RIDE) Quarterly Faculty
The University of Washington, School of Dentistry’s Regional Initiatives in Dental Education (RIDE) program at Eastern Washington University is seeking potential quarterly (adjunct) part-time faculty to serve as Spokane course director(s) for medical foundation courses in any or all of the following areas: Immunology; Cardiac, Pulmonary, and Renal medicine; Blood & Cancer; and, Gastrointestinal medicine.
Content for these courses is provided by Seattle faculty via distance learning from the UW Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. Spokane course directors are expected to participate in skull sessions (calibration sessions prior to classroom sessions), in addition to attending class, providing students with assistance, and leading case-based discussions during group activities in Spokane.
Courses may vary in length between 3 to 10 weeks. Hours range from 12:30 – 5:20, 4 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday).

Required Qualifications- DDS, DMD, MD, or PhD degree
- Demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.
- Strong background in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology
- Teaching experience

- Meet all scheduled classes
- Plan, organize and inform students of the course content, texts, readings, assignments, attendance regulations and methods of evaluation including grading scales
- Schedule and attend office hours
- Turn in grades according to established deadlines
Additionally, all faculty are expected to actively participate in assessment of student learning and to engage in effective teaching.
