Description:

The University of Florida Department of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in a tenure/non-tenure track position within the Division of General Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will practice within an Internal Medicine academic group practice seeing a personal panel of patients as well as teaching and supervising medical students and residents. The division also has research opportunities in quality and patient safety, medical education and other areas. Rank and tenure status is commensurate with experience.

The division of Internal Medicine is comprised of 39 faculty members and providers specializing in the comprehensive medical care of adults. We are dedicated to developing safer, more reliable, and more available systems of ambulatory and inpatient care. Faculty within the division are consistently recognized as among the best clinicians and educators in the UF College of Medicine. The UF Department of Medicine is a national leader in cancer, cardiology, gastroenterology, kidney disorders and pulmonology. In addition, UF Health Shands Hospital is ranked among the top-50 in three specialties in the 2014-2015 edition of America’s Best Hospitals, published by U.S. News & World Report. Resources available for professional development at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center include leadership, education, and research tracks within a Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI), formal mentorship programs and opportunities for teaching, research and other forms of scholarly activity.

The Gainesville region has an inexpensive cost of living, nationally ranked middle and high schools, and superb weather with multiple year-round recreational opportunities including biking, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and cave diving.

Requisite attributes include a commitment to service, a strong sense of teamwork and a desire to train tomorrow’s doctors. Applicants must be board-certified or board eligible and eligible for a Florida Medical License. The annual salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience and education.
