Description:

The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a 12-month, non-tenure track, full-time, position at the rank of Research Assistant Scientist in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering

Duties will include, but not be limited to, conducting research on systematically studying radiation effects in micro/nano-electromechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS) and other emerging devices based on advanced and new semiconductor materials. The preferred candidate will provide excellent expertise in the design, modeling, nanofabrication, and electrical and optical characterization of emerging semiconductor devices. In addition to research, the candidate will also have the opportunities to teach or co-teach undergraduate and graduate courses in solid-state devices and micro/nanosystems.


Qualifications:

The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and at least two years of postdoctoral research experience.

The candidate is also expected to have solid expertise and skillsets to explore new experimental apparatus and systems, engineer low-noise optical and electrical measurement schemes, along with data analysis, computer simulation, technical writing, and presentations. The candidate should be an excellent team player and is expected to be integrated into multidisciplinary and multi-university collaborative research activities. The candidate should have excellent communication skills to closely work together with multiple faculty members, postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and undergraduate students, as well as assist on developing new research projects and proposals to obtain external funding.
