Description:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine is currently recruiting candidates committed to providing a high standard of patient care and passionate about advancing the field of maternal fetal medicine through teaching and clinical research to join our team as a full-time, tenure or non-tenure track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor.  As a perinatologist, carry out the division’s missions of patient care, education and research. Share with other faculty physicians the duties of clinical care. These duties include seeing patients for consultation, continuity care, prenatal diagnosis, obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound, and operative and delivery procedures in the following settings:

  • Outpatient on campus and outreach clinics
  • In-patient at Shands Hospital and invited hospitals
  • Labor and delivery and ORs at Shands Hospital and associated surgical centers or invited hospitals

Act as Labor and Delivery attending as assigned. Rotate night and weekend call, with other department faculty, approximately 2-3 weeknights and weekend day in the hospital. Teach and supervise residents and MFM fellows the fundamentals of maternal-fetal medicine, including surgical and ultrasound skills required to optimize pregnancy outcomes and provide diagnostic information to patients. Teach third-year medical students in the ObGyn clerkship and fourth year students on the MFM elective.

Participate in assigned hospital, medical school and department committees. Attend and support department activities (rounds, special lectures, postgraduate courses, etc.). Participation in Division Conferences and Fellowship activities.

Develop maternal-fetal medicine related research topics and perform basic and clinical maternal-fetal medicine research. A track record with transitional research or disparities research is preferred.

Participate in quality and safety conferences and initiatives orchestrated by the UF College of Medicine, Shands Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine.

The College of Medicine plays an important role in the education of medical students, resident physicians and fellows through its collaboration with the UF Health Physicians practices, UF Health Shands Hospital, and the Malcolm Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center. As a faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our educational mission by teaching junior medical students, serving on hospital, medical and department committees, and participating in other department activities, including rounds, special lectures and postgraduate courses. In addition, you will apply your experience and insights to a program of clinical research in the area of general gynecology.


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements: Board eligible/certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and eligible for a Florida Medical License.
