Campus Safety and Operations Project Specialist
Full-time Support Staff
Dickson Center, Sugar Grove Campus

The Campus Safety and Operations Project Specialist position reports tothe Executive Director of Campus Safety and Operations. This position provides administrative supportservices necessary to carry out campus safety and operational service functionsfor the college.

Responsibilities

Perform dailyadministrative support responsibilities as delegated by the Executive Director of Campus Safety and Operations.

Update and maintain theaccuracy of building floorplans and evacuation maps.

Inventory & Maintenance of college safety equipment (AEDs, FireExtinguishers, Emergency Lighting, & Eyewash Stations)

Assist the Campus Safety and Project Manager withdeveloping and maintaining a database of room assignments.

Coordinate small projects for the department.

Support the Campus Safety and Project Manager with adding documentationto the digital construction document archive.

Assist the Campus Safety and Project Manager and Chief Plant Operator withcollecting close-out documents from construction projects and make sure theyhave been correctly added to the digital construction document archive.

Schedule rooms and participants for meetings.

Attend, take notes and record minutes for meetings as needed.

Answers telephone, takes messages and answers inquiries within assignedscope of responsibility.

Support the Campus Safety and Project Manager with assembling andsubmitting all required risk management and safety related reporting.

Attend meetings and participate in the Illinois Community College RiskManagement Consortium (ICCRMC) Safety Committee along with the Campus Safetyand Project Manager.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the Campus Safety andProject Manager and the Chief Plant Operator.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

One year of related work experience preferred.

Microsoft Office computer skills, email and Internet competency required. Ability to become proficient in required departmental software.

Ability to work under stress and to clearly convey thoughts and instructions to others both verbally and in writing.

Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend Spanish is a plus.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize calls for service and make sound judgements.

Excellent human relations/customer service skills and a proven ability to function effectively with a wide variety of people in a dynamic environment.

Ability to pass a background investigation covering employment, education, driving, and criminal records.

Ability to prioritize and work with limited supervision.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
