The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), part of the State University of New York and an internationally renowned college of art, design, business and technology with a strong emphasis on liberal arts, invites applications for an adjunct teaching position in the English and Communication Studies Department.



Job Description:


The English and Communication Studies Department at FIT-SUNY seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach a literature course, EN 373 The Graphic Novel. Students are introduced to the literary field of graphic novels. The course surveys the evolution of comics' form and content from the 'Golden Age' through the Underground Comix Revolution to today's graphic novels. Themes including war and survival, religious and cultural identity, sexuality, and memory and consciousness are explored.



Requirements:


Candidates should have an educational and employment background appropriate for teaching college level literature courses. Candidates must have at least a Master's Degree, as well as thirty (30) additional and appropriate graduate credits and/or evidence of scholarly achievement, professional activities and college level teaching experience. The requirement for the Master's Degree may be waived if the candidate is in a doctoral program in which the Master's Degree is not required.
